Now, you can learn English with Amazon Alexa
This new skill can be accessed on all Amazon Echo smart speakers, Echo Show smart displays, Alexa mic on Amazon shopping on their Android smartphones, or Alexa app on smartphones.
Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa is capable of doing many things. It can control all your smart home devices. It can call you a cab. It can even make you laugh with its witty jokes. Now, Alexa has got a new skill that enables it to teach English to users.
Macmillan Education India today rolled out a new interactive skill on Amazon Alexa today. This new skill is called ‘Macmillan Altura’ and it is available on Alexa for learners of all age groups to learn English.
This skill offers curriculum grade English learning content in a storytelling format, vocabulary building exercises, interactive quizzes on listening comprehension and English grammar structured in levels 1 to 5. Macmillan Education says that the story-telling and interactive format helps learners to improve their English reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills.
What makes using this skill effective is that it keeps learners motivated and engaged by awarding stars and badges.
This new skill can be accessed on all Amazon Echo smart speakers, Echo Show smart displays, Alexa mic on Amazon shopping on their Android smartphones, or Alexa app on smartphones. Using it is really easy. All users need to do is say, “Alexa, open Macmillan Altura” or simply “Alexa, open my English reader.”
